Moving to Blogger
I have been a big WordPress fan since I started my first blog back in high school. I still am, but I have decided to move on for reasons I will mention in a bit. Anyway, today I started using Google's blogger platform. The main reason for this is that the blogger platform is almost always online and there is no stupid, greedy webhost company at the back of it.
My last blog had great uptime, but the support of the webhost (keeping it anonymous) was terrible. I contacted them a few times about some weird bug that kept me from accessing my WordPress backend, but to no avail. So while sitting in the computer lab at university I suddenly decided to try Google's Blogger. That was about 30 minutes ago. So far I have been blown away by the features offered by Blogger.
I always regarded Blogger as simplistic and lame, but it is nothing like that! Blogger is seriously feature packed and my little experience with it has been great. I really like it.
Why the need to blog?
I enjoy blogging for a couple of reasons. The first is that my blog acts like my online journal that I can share with the world. The second reason is documentation of all the interesting things I come across (especially as a computer engineering student). Finally, to document my projects in an informal way.
That's about it. My first post (of many) on Google Blogger.
